From the 18th to the 31st October Smeg’s partner in Mexico – IESA – participated in "The Design Week"
The Design Week” is a two week event in which architects and designers, graphic artists, interior decorators, students, and design lovers from all around Mexico gather in Mexico City to attend conferences, seminars, showroom showcases etc.
The first Design Week was in October 2009 and it had the objective to create a week dedicated to design in its various disciplines, with the hope that it would work as a platform to promote design culture in Mexico and position Mexico City alongside other global design capitals of the world like London, Paris and Milan.
Each year The Design Week proposes an ambitious program of activities in academic, cultural and economical fields to interest curious people with a love of design.
The events include cocktail evenings, lectures by international designers, and the opening of Design House where a selected group of 19 architects and interior architects transform a building into a new and vast array of spaces, using their distinct and unique design flair. IESA participated in the Design house by providing a Smeg oven, electric cooktop and FAB fridge in the kitchen.
This year the room was designed by Muro Rojo and proved to be quite a hit with visitors.
The Design Week and the participation in Design House was a great opportunity for IESA (www.smegmx.mx) to promote the Smeg brand among the design community in Mexico.
During the duration of The Design Week IESA held a number of events in their well equipped showroom, meeting almost 1,200 architects and designers interested in specifying Smeg products in Mexico thanks to their exclusive style and excellent build quality.
